SUMMER BIBLE STUDY
All are invited to the Fellowship Hall for our upcoming Summer Bible Study, “A Clash of Kingdoms”, beginning Sunday, June 10. As Christians, we are called to proclaim God’s name in all the earth, but how do we do that in the midst of false gospels? Join us as we discover how Paul communicated the Good News of Christ to Philippi, a Roman colony that worshipped false Gods.
Look around your workplace or neighborhood. Who might God be asking you to share the Gospel with? Invite them to worship with
you! “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged andgive up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriatetime.” Galatians 6:9
THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
Thursday Morning Bible Study will begin the study of Lauren Chandler’s “Steadfast Love”-a study of Psalm 107. All women are invited to come on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am in the Gold Room.
MISSION TRIP TO PUERTO RICO
Covenant EPC is going to Puerto Rico this summer!! The Mission Team has partnered with the EPC for a trip to Puerto Rico from August 4-10. We will be doing a combination of construction, debris cleanup, pastoral care and counseling, cooking community meals, aid distribution, home visits, and elderly check ins and visits. To make this happen we need to quickly assess how many folks are interested in sharing our skills and talents with the folks in Puerto Rico who have so many needs. If this is a trip you feel called to participate in, please contact Shawn ASAP! For more information, check out https://www.prayingpelicanmissions.org/
Vacation Bible School is quickly approaching, and registration is now open. Invite your friends, neighbors, coworkers and family members to register on our website at: http://cepclj.org/events/vbs. Painting nails with Billie is back in action!
Billie has been doing an awesome job with the “Lifting Spirits Mission”. The residents really love her and look forward to her visits. In order to keep this mission going, however, she does need volunteers to help her. If you are free on either a Wednesday or Friday and would like to volunteer your time, please contact Billie PittaLima at (979)665-6513 to sign up. You may also call Jaelisa in the Church Office for more information.
No Gurls Aloud Men’s Breakfast Fellowship continues every Saturday morning at 8:00 am in Fellowship Hall. We are having a great time eating, visiting at our individual tables, and then having a whole-group discussion about the Scripture for Sunday’s sermon. We now share the responsibility for the food, having divided ourselves into four teams. We invite men of all ages to come join this group.
What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ? Is it enough to believe? What part does obedience play? These are the questions Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrestled with. Come join Empty Nesters class for six weeks beginning Sunday, July 30th, as we sort through Bonhoeffer’s questions. The class will be lead by Rick Holmes as we find the answers to profoundly enrich your Christian life.
