CEPC YOUTH CHOIR
All students from Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to be a part of the CEPC Youth Choir. Practices are on Sunday evenings in the Choir Room starting on Sunday, August 10, from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. AND, you are encouraged to bring friends! This year we will be playing musical instruments, learning many new songs, and just enjoying the time together with friends. For more information, contact Carolyn Ross at 236-0199.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for RIVER OF HOPE
River of Hope provides rent and utility assistance to those in need living in Brazosport. CEPC is a founding member of the organization, and we have continually offered financial support to its mission. River of Hope is currently in need of a volunteer bookkeeper. The job takes about two hours per week using QuickBooks. If you have questions or would like more information, contact River of Hope director, Nanette Freelon, at 299-9464, or Clif Dusek at 297-7019.
GREETERS FOR WORSHIP
Greeters are needed for both worship services each Sunday morning at CEPC. The only requirement for this job is a friendly smile and a few kind words. Please consider volunteering to be a greeter. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the office hallway. If you forget to sign up, give Jim Christen a call at 297-8879. First-time greeters may want to call Jim for more information. Don’t be shy - it’s fun!
If you enjoy knitting or would like to learn to knit, Knifty Knitters is the place for you! This group of ladies led by Alison Hill enjoys all sorts of handwork and lots of fellowship. They meet on Tuesdays beginning at 10:00 am in the Gold Room. They have a really good time working on personal projects as well as mission projects. Not sure? Just pop in one Tuesday and see what everyone’s making!
DO YOU HAVE A SMILE TO SHARE?
What would it be like to walk into a church, not see a single familiar face, and have no idea where to go? Without greeters, this would happen every Sunday at CEPC. Serving as Greeter gives you a chance to meet new people and welcome friends. It takes a few extra minutes on Sunday morning, but makes a huge difference in the life of the church. If you are willing to serve as Greeter, please call Jim Christen at 292-5853.
FLOWERS FOR WORSHIP
Would you like to provide flowers for worship? The 2015 flower calendar is in the office hallway. Just record your name on the date you wish to reserve. You may choose to honor someone special or to remember a special event. If you would like Lesley Trafford to arrange your flowers, please call her two weeks in advance at 292-0370.
DO YOU HAVE A SONG IN YOUR HEART?
Well then...come and sing! The Chancel Choir is a group that enjoys singing and praising God. You are welcome to come any Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm, in the choir room. We park across from the Sanctuary and come in the main entrance. If you would like childcare for rehearsal, call the church office in advance. There is a warm chair waiting for you!
AMAZON SMILE DONATIONS
Did you know that Amazon will donate .5% of your purchase amount back to CEPC? Here’s how it works. Go to smile.amazon.com . On your first visit, you will select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases. Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church Lake Jackson is already listed! Amazon smile offers the same products at the same prices as the amazon.com site. For more information, search “Amazon Smile” on Amazon.com. It really works! Pastor Alan tested it out.

We are having a great time eating, visiting at our individual tables, and then having a wholegroup discussion about the Scripture for Sunday’s sermon. We now share the responsibility for the food, having divided ourselves into four teams. We invite men of all ages to come join this group.
